i went in to try but mine and rhoda's have been lifted too. and there is no way to see who still has them.

Jenny said...

timmy, thanks for letting us know. I am sorry to hear that this has happened to you and rhoda, as well. I wonder if the blog has been highjacked or something. Really creepy!

human being said...

i came up with a way that may help... will write to you soon...

Sorry I can't help... mine's gone too ;/

I still seem to have edit/delete functionality on my own posts here, but no admin privileges (not sure if I originally did or not, actually).

Thanks for the heads-up. If FoS is going to be under new and unknown management, I'm going to use those delete privileges. creepy. If I find I can't delete in a while, well, take warning you thieves of other folks' work. the Karma Komodo gonna gitcha one time.

Sorry...I have no privileges as well. I am at a loss as to how to help.

Doublechecked under permissions....nope, I'm a mere author.

That still works, though - created a test post and deleted it.

Jenny,
I am sorry to read about this horrible situation which you have discovered regarding FoS Blog.
I have checked my details and I too am simply an author without any privileges.
I hope you will soon find a solution to this problem.
Best wishes, Eileen

Jenny said...

Thanks everyone for the concern you have shown here and in emails! It seems like none of us has admin privileges anymore. It may be a glitch, but it can also be a prank by a member. We will try to figure out a way to solve this. It is a really horrible situation, as you say, Eileen. I hope it can be solved soon.

Anonymous said...

Very odd situation,

I hope you can solve it. I check it out and I don't have either admin's privileges (altought I don't know if I had them before....)

I can only edit and delete my own works...

Peter Greene said...

Well, I'll leave it til tonight and then perhaps I'll start pulling up stakes here, and elsewhere. This whole thing has made me a bit leery of crossposting and collaborating.

Jenny said...

And what also irritates me is that if I or any other members would like to leave this blog because of this whole thing, it is not possible to remove my name from the sidebar because I lack admin privilege.

Anders Enochsson said...

I will flag abuse if it's ok for everybody.

Peter Greene said...

How disappointing about the sidebar. I don't really want to leave FoS...I like it. But this whole business is a bit lame. I guess it's a lesson to lock the doors.

Have a good night, all - I'm going to join old stereos into a heap and listen to some terrible, cheesy new rap that I've taken a liking to. I shall have my "Speakers Going Hammer", as the nice young man in all the jewelry said so smoothly.
No readings today - I must learn to rap! (actually, it's quite fun to write the rhymes, and quite fun to freestyle, but there is little chance of my [edited][edited] butt getting up and dancing in public any time soon).

As the ancient insult goes, I got daikon legs. I hope this all resolves! I haven't decided if I should pull my posts from here or not...the only real risk is vandalization, or an attempt to steal copyright - and I doubt those things are going to happen. Maybe if I wrote valuable rhyming rap verses, I'd be more worried.

If I was trying to get to the bottom of something like this I would ask why. Not who.

Peter Greene said...

Actually, Nonny Mouse, I wouldn't waste my time. Just the appearance of little faceless creeps is enough to send me packing with my easel and snotrag.

it's been fun, guys - thanks for all the support, and all the art!

Plugpullers of the world, go fuck yourselves. Folks who leave their doors open aren't stupid; just better than you.

MUST I BE BLUNT

Anyways,
I'm just saying.

I don't have admin access either. I would have pulled up stakes here too.

I've had a look at the code and you're not going to get into this site unless you're a lot better at C++ than I am.

I would suggest that you ask this person what their beef is.

Kind regards,
A concerned user.

I think it's some kind of a technical fault that has occurred automatically. It happened on my personal blog once. I freaked out but the problem somehow solved itself over a couple of weeks. I don't think any member here would do such a thing. This is a wonderful forum where we all have an opportunity to be read and seen. Why would a member want to jeopardize that?

Zaina Anwar said...

Do you think this would create a possibility of our work being lifted and its copy right status violated? Now I can feel bits of dark paranoia creeping in!

Anders Enochsson said...

Anonymous – Are you a member of this blog? If you are, why are you not writing in your own name?

Jenny said...

Ok, this whole thing is just too creepy. I am leaving this blog now. FoS has been a great forum for poetry and art until this situation appeared.

Anonymous said...

This has been very great blog, but because of the situation I'll leave too....

Anders Enochsson said...

What the fuck is this Anonymous. I just saw a comment here and deleted it. Seems that someone has gotten into my account. I will not write here anymore. This person claims that I write the annonymous comments. This person is totally sick.

human being said...

ande...
i got that comment in my mail... he said, this post is yours...( not the comments...)
think he is trying to make you angry to delete the post... but why should you ever?

i came here to have few words with this dear anonymous friend...
please keep the post intact... everyone can learn much from the whole story...

human being said...

dear anonymous friend...
surely you had a point in doing all this... sometimes we cannot say things directly and choose indirect ways... and some of these indirect ways are so dangerous... as they can backfire... why don't you write about your intentions in a post so that everyone can be aware of... the way you have chosen doesn't enlighten anyone... it just kills trust... i'm sure you have been the victim of some sort of distrust... your attitude shows this... but i can detect from what you have said here that you are a deep thinker... so please think more deeply...
what you are doing is like the act of a bomber or a terrorist who just gives more excuses to the dictator to suppress people...
all people make mistakes... why don't we just talk about them so that we can find a way out? why don't you talk and just kill, my dear anonymous friend?

hope all of you can forgive the crow for meddling... crows cannot sit and watch people fighting... they love all people...
:)

Anonymous said...

Indeed human being. Let us see what the members say.

Anonymous said...

Can't backfire when the only idea is to ask questions that other people don't want to ask.

It all works out anyways, doesn't it?

human being said...

no it doesn't dear friend!
:)
there were better ways to ask your questions... no?
anyway... now you are here why don't you ask your questions?
each question is a quest...

and please promise not to harm the site anymore... k?

I don't have access to your account. I have author privileges on this blog. No admin for my part.

But I thought as it was a den of poets that I'd try some metaphor as opposed to logic -- Sun-tzu:

'Accessible' means that
Both sides
Can come and go freely.
On accessible terrain,
He who occupies High Yang ground
And ensures
His line of supplies
Will fight
To advantage.

human being said...

wow! you ARE a deep thinker!
this is great...
so you mean there is no balance (between yang and yin) here and yang ( the force representing power and competition has gained the upper hand... working for it's advantages... eh?
and you decided to protest to this...

what do you mean when you say you don't have access to admin privileges? you mean you have not done this?

Anders Enochsson said...

Anonymous: I think I know who you are. I recognise your style of writing so you are not very well disguised. You are wasting your time.

I do not say that it is necessary you who took away the administrator privileges. Right?

I think this is pretty silly of you. A ridiculous thing to do and you are only upsetting people. Do you get a kick by doing this?

So..
I can only post, and edit my posts I don't think I have admin. acess.
I can't help.

I don't think everyone bailing out on the blog is a great answer to the problem, but I must admit that I'm not sure what is the best course of action is.

Hopefully this is a hick-up in blogger land, weird things have happened before.

Anonymous said...

I have a few blogs too which are "contribution" blogs but I have keep the admin privileges only to myself - and now I'm very happy that I have done that...

Bailing out is not a great answer to nothing and maybe that who caused this problem wanted that, I don't know but in this situation the only solution to me was to leave because now nobody knows who the admin is and he or she can do nealy anything... and that's not so nice thing....

I hope that this person come to sense and gives the admin privileges back to Jenny and Ande...

It's also possible that this everything is just a some failure in internetsystems.... but who knows....

Jenny said...

Like Satu, I think that the only solution to this particular problem is to leave. I believe in the saying "choose your battles wisely". We really really tried our best to find a solution to the problem and many members have been very helpful. It is possible that it is a technical issue, but it could also be a member who has done it.

Anonymous, I think this situation is bad as it is and the game you are playing is just plain tactless.

Francis Scudellari said...

I haven't yet seen any evidence of malicious intent (ie, altering content on the site), so I'm not convinced that the site has been hijacked. I've had my main site hacked a few times in the past, and usually they're very proud of the fact and advertise it clearly. But maybe they're waiting for something. You can of course stop being an author here, but unfortunately you can't remove any old posts, so those will remain up. And you can't delete the blog either. I don't know that's there's a good solution. It's a shame Google/Blogger makes it so difficult to reach support. That makes absolutely no sense for a service as popular as it is. I guess they're too big to care. WordPress may be a better option for future endeavors.

Jenny said...

Francis, it is actually possible for authors without admin to remove their own posts. A "delete" bottom appears next to your individual pieces when you enter the dashboard. But it is irritating that nothing can be taken away from the sidebar. I would like to remove the links with my name and blog at the sidebar, but that cannot be done now.

Akeith Walters said...

Anonymous is obviously a child and therefore any attempt to engage "it" any sort of reasonal way would be a waste of time.

Pity such things should occur.

human being said...

sorry anonymous... seems you had something else on your mind when writing that quote... I find this on the net:

1. Sun Tzu said: We may distinguish six kinds of terrain, to wit: (1) Accessible ground; (2) entangling ground; (3) temporizing ground; (4) narrow passes; (5) precipitous heights; (6) positions at a great distance from the enemy.

2. Ground which can be freely traversed by both sides is called accessible.

3. With regard to ground of this nature, be before the enemy in occupying the raised and sunny spots, and carefully guard your line of supplies. Then you will be able to fight with advantage.

so you think this is sort of a war... and who's got the sunny spot? not you for sure... nobody in fact, i think... this is no war... even in the metaphoric sense of the word... as long as you believe in war you will lose... take this from crow...
:)

and one question... for Ande...
how could you delete anonymous comment? now that we have just an author access, we can only delete our own comments and the "comments" button is not shown for us on our dashboard... just the admins can delete other people's comments...
perhaps you have that privilege... please check... if you have it please do not delete the blog and let us copy our posts... some of my posts here are not reposts and i don't have a copy of them...

Anders Enochsson said...

Well, you can always delete the comments under your own posts, Hb.

Please check for yourself under your posts. Even if you're just an author. Of course I don't have administrator privileges. I wouldn’t go through all this trouble if I had would I?

Jenny said...

I agree with, Akeith. Well put!

human being said...

ah... yes! thanks for the explanation!
thought perhaps the "hijacker" had become regretful...
:)

and i always take "children" seriously... as they will be the future "grownups"...
