Urban Skyline in a Tree Stump

Discovered in the Ox Mountains, Co. Sligo Ireland at the weekend. A fitting metaphor for the collapse of rampant property speculation worldwide.

Thomas, I am happy that you are now a member of FoS! As you said, during a volcano as well, poetic in itself. Welcome indeed.

Glad that this site is now for poets and artists. I think that all art forms are connected anyway. We just choose different ways to express ourselves.

This photograph is a wonderful piece of visual poetry. Thank you!

What a wonderful picture. I love this one.

It had to collapse, I think. We humans expect to get rewards from doing so little. Of course it doesn’t last. Nature works so much harder in comparison; doing its best every day.

There's something that's called a toxic mimic... this is the opposite of that, taking something unnatural and deleterious and giving it an organically beautiful form.

Thanks everybody I was back at this stump today and the light was totally different and looked nothing like this. Now get this, I took this photo when the No Fly band on Irish airspace had been in effect for a number of days and the sunlight and shadows were incredible. Unless we get another volcano then this is truly a one off photo.
