Virmifugue en Wyrmgrass

noose. 13 beans are dipped
noose. in the aqueous spine
noose. of the equid malingerer
noose. an owl has lips
noose. like a girl

monsoo. through the halls
monsoo. of puzzle lanterns
monsoo. chimneys slither
monsoo. roe-busted hylomorphs
monsoo. with rotary chin-glyphs
monsoo. of pinkardines

maryland
still
possesses
narcotic
powers

Excellent poem and artwork, Lanny! The pulse is so interesting. Thanks for this one.

In Sweden we do not have places like Maryland, I guess. :)

thanks!

Well, this one was sort
me thinking about some of
Jeff Harrison's poetic tropes.
He used to use the word Virginia
alot in his poems, had a series of them anyway. For me, I like this idea of submerged intention linked to sound, and or cryptic stuff.

Maryland might just be
something like

meaning's airy land
or my-airy land
or mi (sound)'s airy land.

sort of an ars poetic kind of thing
i guess. just having fun.

I love the feeling created by the repetitious lines.
Wonderful poem.

I really love the art work, and it adds a mystical air to the poetry. It almost feels like a riddle.

Having grown up in Maryland, I must have overlooked its narcotic power :).

This isn't just a poem, it's a spell, too. Right? And if I read for the thirteenth time, what do I turn into? Really, it's phenomenal.
